Theoretical physics center has new chief

Dr. Choi Han-yong

Dr. Choi Han-yong, a professor of physics at Sungkyunkwan University, was inaugurated president of the Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics, Friday.
Choi, an expert in solid state physics, is currently a member of the Korean Superconductivity Society’s board of directors. He has served as dean of the physics department at Sungkyunkwan and on the general council of the APCTP.
The APCTP was founded in 1994, and serves the science community in Korea and the Asia-Pacific region with in-house research programs that attract talented young scientists and helps them pursue their own research goals.
The center also brings together researchers in the Asia-Pacific area by holding workshops and symposiums, where experts exchange ideas and hold discussions.
