Actor Lee Min-ho wins popularity award in China

Korean actor Lee Min-ho best known for the television drama “Boys Over Flowers” won a popularity award in China, according to Star Haus, his management agency.

Lee received the Most Popular Asian Actor Award at the 12th China Fashion Awards in Suzhou, China on Friday. He was the only foreign star to participate in the event where Chinese big name stars such as Cecilia Cheung and Rosamund Kwan attended.

The awards ceremony has been hosted by the Shanghai Media Group every year to honor those who contribute in various fields such as music, film, public service, sports and fashion. The event is recognized as one of the most influential awards in China.

Lee rose to stardom with his leading role as Gu Jun-pyo in “Boys Over Flowers” (2009) and since then starred in “Personal Taste” (2010), “City Hunter” (2011) and “Faith” (2012).

His popularity in China is in part thanks to his role in dramas such as “Boys Over Flowers” and “City Hunter.”
