Vietnam plans to learn from the monitoring and evaluation system that the Korea Central Official Training Institute (KIPA) has implemented in assessing the country's state-funded organizations, the state-run think tank said.
An 11-member Vietnamese delegation, led by Tran Huu Thang, deputy minister of home affairs, visited the KIPA in Gangnam, southern Seoul, Monday.
They arrived in Seoul for a five-day tour with the aim of exchanging experiences with staff members of Korean government agencies, including the Office of the Prime Minister.
The delegation also expressed the hope to acquire practical knowledge about the institute's monitoring and evaluation system.
Currently, the Vietnamese government is planning to develop its own watchdog system in an effort to reform its public sector.
``We had a meaningful meeting today, where each side discussed the administrative systems of each country,'' Park Eung-kyuk, president of KIPA, said after senior researcher Park Joong-hun gave a lecture under the title, ``Government Performance Evaluation and Management System: Contents and Methodologies.''
