Big Bang Sweeps Prizes in Japan

K-pop group Big Bang won another prize at the 51st Japan Record Awards Wednesday, crowning its successful overseas debut.
The five-member boy band was named Best New Artist at the event, becoming the first Koreans to do so. The coveted award goes to one of four recipients of the New Artist Award, which was won this year by Big Bang and three Japanese artists ― Maya Sakura, Scandal and Hilchryme.
Big Bang recently won the Best Newcomer Award at another major music award ceremony, the Japan Cable Broadcasting Awards (Nihon Yusen Taisho).
The group released its first Japanese single ``My Heaven'' in June, followed by another single ``Gara Gara Go!'' All of their recordings, including their first album and third single ``Koe Wo Kikasete,'' made the Top 5 on the Japanese Oricon Music Chart.
In November, they won the Gold Artist Award at the Best Hit music program on Nihon TV. They also appeared in yearend award ceremonies on TV Asahi and Fuji TV.
The group will hold concerts in Seoul from Jan. 29 to 31.
빅뱅 일본에서 최우수신인상 휩쓸어
인기그룹 빅뱅이 올해 일본에서 최우수신인상을 거푸 수상했다. 외국인 가수로는 처음으로 2관왕을 달성했다.
빅뱅은 30일 저녁 도쿄의 신국립극장에서 TBS-TV로 생방송 진행된 제51회 일본레코드대상 (일본작곡가협회 주최)에서 지난 20일 '제42회 일본유선대상' (전국유선음악방송협회 주최)에 이어 다시 최우수신인상을 수상해 2관왕의 위업을 달성했다.
빅뱅 멤버 대성은 "이렇게 큰 상을 받게 될 줄 정말 몰라 지금 떨린다"고 말했으며, 탑은 사회자의 갑작스런 질문에 통역 없이 우리말로 "응원해 주시는 일본 팬 여러분 감사하다"고 말해 행사장을 웃음바다로 만들기도 했다.
또 다른 멤버 지-드래곤은 이들과 함께 신인상 무대인 '가라가라 GO!!'를 선보인 뒤 우수작품상 수상곡인 3인조 그룹 윈즈(W-inds.)의 '레인 이즈 폴린(Rain Is Fallin)', 그리고 최우수신인상 앙코르를 포함해 3차례나 무대에 올랐다.
빅뱅은 올 6월 일본 데뷔 싱글 '마이 헤븐(MY HEAVEN)'을 발표한 데 이어 `가라가라 Go!'를 내놓았었다. 이들은 모두 일본 오리콘 차트 5위 내에 들었다.
빅뱅은 지난 11월 니혼TV가 주최하는 히트 음악 프로그램에서 금상을 수상한데 이어 아사히TV 및 후지TV의 연말 시상식에도 모습을 드러냈다.
빅뱅은 1월 29-31일 서울에서 콘서트를 연다.
