Lee Jae-oh Elected Regional IOI Chief

Lee Jae-oh, chairman of the Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Commission (ACRC), has been elected regional chief of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI), the commission said Wednesday.
He was chosen for his leadership and commitment to protecting civil rights and supporting a local ombudsman system, according to the ACRC.
Lee will serve as the head of the Asian regional chapter of the institute for the next four years.
The newly-appointed head expressed gratitude and promised to help develop a joint project to encourage more organizations and countries to join the institute.
The IOI, which was established in 1978, is a global entity for cooperation and information exchange among ombudsman organizations, and has 150 members from more than 75 countries.
