New ATEK Spokesman Picked

Dann Gaymer, 22, has been appointed as a communications director for the Association for Teachers of English in Korea (ATEK), succeeding former spokesman and incumbent president Greg Dolezal.
Gaymer came to Korea from the U.K. in 2008 to teach English and lives in Daegu.
``I'm honored to be able to play such an important role in ATEK. We have a lot of work ahead of us but I feel its work worth doing because it will hopefully illicit positive changes for both present and future members of ATEK and English teachers throughout South Korea,'' Gaymer said in statement Tuesday. He gained a bachelor's degree in social anthropology from the University of Kent.
Having officially been launched in March this year, the foreign English teachers' group has attracted about 1,000 members and formed several branches for teachers outside Seoul.
