Cardinal Andrew Yeom Soo-jung
South Korean Cardinal Andrew Yeom Soo-jung will send $50,000 in emergency aid to victims of the earthquake that hit southern Mexico, the Archdiocese of Seoul said Monday.
Mexico was hit by an 8.2 magnitude quake, the most powerful earthquake in a century, on Thursday, leaving more than 90 people dead.
"I'm deeply saddened by the deaths of people in the earthquake," the archbishop of Seoul said in his letter to Archbishop Jose Luis Chavez Botello of Antequera, Oaxaca, Mexico.
"I will share my pain with spiritual ties with believers in Oaxaca and pray for the eternal rest of those who have been victims of the earthquake.” (Yonhap)
