Green Cross supplies hypertension, hyperlipidemia drug

Green Cross Corp., a Korean company noted for vaccines, has begun to supply a hypertension and hyperlipidemia drug, a company spokesman said.
The medicine, Rotacand, is a compound of condesartan and rosuvartatin, which show a proven efficacy in treating hypertension and hyperlipidemia, respectively.
The spokesman said condesartan helps patients lower their blood pressure, while rosuvartatin can reduce the level of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol.
“We have developed Rotacand to help patients suffering from hypertension and hyperlipidemia ease their symptoms more effectively,” he said.
The spokesman said patients can tackle the two symptoms at the same time by taking a Rotacand pill once a day.
Rotacand has added to the company’s list of metabolic syndrome drugs, including Lipidil Supra and Daviduo, which are good for treating hypertriglyceridemia and hyperlipidemia, respectively.
Green Cross Corp. plans to develop more drugs for metabolic syndrome, which includes abdominal obesity, high blood pressure and hyperlipidemia.
