(71) Saju of Tiger Woods, John Edwards
By Janet Shin
Tiger Woods, a global golf star, is embroiled in a scandal as rumors of his infidelity continue. Rumors have quickly spread since the National Enquirer revealed his affair with Rachel Uchitel. Then his reputation took more blows after his neighbors found him lying in the street outside his house after plowing his SUV into a fire hydrant and a tree.
Woods issued a statement that the accident was his fault but a private matter, and declined to reveal more details.
A few days later, Woods finally expressed regret on his personal Web site for his ``transgressions.'' The apology was announced the same day that a San Diego cocktail waitress, Jaimee Grubbs, admitted in public that she had a two-and-a-half-year affair with Woods, even producing voice and text messages from the golf star.
There also are reports that Tiger and Elin Woods are in marriage counseling and are renegotiating their prenuptial agreement that will give her more money.
Woods, until now, managed to avoid the tabloid spotlight. Despite being the richest athlete in the world and one of the planet's most famous celebrities, Woods aggressively created a barrier around his private life. He made no claims, either personally or through the personas created for him by marketing partners such as Nike, to be anything other than a golfer. This image portrayed Woods as having a single-minded devotion to excellence, discipline and skill.
The Woods scandal is definitely the top news of the month not only because of people's interest, but the life of a sports star that includes sex, discord, backdoor deals and the clash of values between his private life and public image.
He has been reluctant to be open about his personal life and we can see this by his statement: ``The virtue of privacy is one that must be protected. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions.''
Because of the sharp contrast with his clean image, the Woods scandal has sparked global interest, amid continuous revelations of women who allegedly had affairs with him.
Now we look into his life through the angle of saju to see what happened and how things are going to unfold further. We may also compare the saju of another celebrity who was entangled in this kind of trouble too.
Woods was born on Dec. 30, 1975 and his saju comes out as Chart 1.
As we can see, he was born with the energy of metal, which stands for resolution and decisiveness. He was born in the month of expression star, from which we can tell how talented he is. With eul-myo in his year pillar, he was able to achieve money, fortune and the recognition (outcome) from an early stage in his life. We usually say gyeong, mu and eul make a good stem combination to compose a noble fate.
Then, what happened to Tiger this year?
This year (gi-chuk), the chuk caused Woods to commit a penalty with sul in his day branch. The day branch is his marriage palace. The penalty comes from the inflated energy. So, chuk and sul meet each other to inflate the earth energy.
It is a penalty of his knowledge star ― reputation on the one hand, and the earth restrains the water energy, which stands for his expression star. Born in the month of ja water, gyeong is not so strong in its nature, even though gyeong itself seems very strong on its surface. Then mu and sul earth, and his knowledge star supports and protects him from losing his energy.
Maybe that's the reason why he values privacy and his reputation most in life. By the chuk-sul penalty, he lost a supportive element, that is a knowledge star as well as his marriage palace, which actually applied to Woods's life like a punishment.
Now let's look at the other life, John Edwards ― an American attorney and politician.
He was born on June 10, 1953. (Chart 2)
He was born with the yang water energy in the month of money star. His money star (wife and girlfriend) energy is so strong that it can only be balanced by the earth energy of his career star. In 2007 (year of jeong-hae), the National Enquirer revealed the affair between Edwards and former campaign worker Rielle Hunter. In 2008 (year of mu-ja), Edwards admitted to the affair.
In the year of jeong-hae(2007), there was a sa-hae clash and in the year of mu-ja(2008), there was a ja-o clash. Through the clash, he faced a crisis with his wife but both sa and o are not his marriage palace, and the couple didn't divorce.
