Baduk, Made Fun and Easy

Nam Chi-hyung; EunHaeng NaMu: 208 pp., 12,000 won

The book is the last of the series of ``Baduk, Made Fun and Easy'' for beginners. The third volume by Nam Chi-hyung, a professional baduk player and professor who wrote the column of the same title in The Korea Times for over three years, is designed to teach fundamental studies of baduk to foreigners interested in this oriental game.

The books give readers lessons from the basics of baduk including the terms and rules to practical steps by stages in ``Baduk, Made Fun and Easy Vol. 1,'' published in 2006; and more profound lessons including Sente, Joseki, Ko, Sacrifice, Atari and other technical skills in addition to conceptual teachings in volume 2 in 2007.

Nam gives lessons about Salvation, Bend, Openings, Death and Life in the newly published 3rd volume so you could learn the advanced studies of basic baduk.

The book is intended not to deliver substantial knowledge of baduk but rather to lure the readers into becoming interested in the game.
