Guitarist Justin King, Apologies to Perform in Seoul

American guitar virtuoso Justin King and his band the Apologies are performing in Seoul for the first time Aug. 31.
The concert at the Chungmu Art Hall will be the first overseas performance for King and the Apologies
King sings lead vocals and plays guitar and keyboards for the band. As a solo acoustic guitarist, he is known for his outstanding technique and unique style.
King has toured with jazz star Diana Krall and James Taylor. He has also shared billings with Nickel Creek, B.B. King and Al Green, among others. King has already released a self-titled album, ``Opening'' and his latest ``Le Bleu,'' which includes original songs and instrumental pieces. He even recorded his last album at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios.
The band is composed mostly of King's old friends from Eugene, Oregon. Ehren Ebbage plays guitar and sings vocals, Drew Dresman plays bass, while Nadir Jeevanjee plays drums.
King and the Apologies have released their debut single ``Fall/Rise,'' and is available on iTunes in the United States. Fans can listen to samples of their music on the Web site, www.justinking.com, and read blog entries by the band members.
King and the Apologies are planning to release their first full-length album independently, after their deal with record label Epic fell through.
The band's upcoming album was recorded in King's own Blackberry Hill Studio in Oregon. It will include tracks produced by King, Rob Schapf, who has produced for Beck and Elliot Smith; and Ron Aniello, who has produced for alternative rock group Lifehouse and Barenaked Ladies.
After their show in Korea, King and the Apologies will hold performances in Oregon, Washington and California in September.
