UN environment chief visits Pyongyang to discuss big issues

United Nations Environment Program Executive Director Erik Solheim arrived in Pyongyang Wednesday, the (North) Korean Central News Agency reported.

He plans to discuss North Korea's deforestation and other environmental problems.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has emphasized environmental issues, including forest restoration, energy conservation and green technology.

In particular, North Korea has been conducting nationwide tree-planting projects.
