Arbor Day: North Korean soldiers dig holes in the ground to plant trees during the country’s Arbor Day, March 2. The impoverished regime has been mobilizing its people to fight against deforestation, asking them to buy trees, according to Radio Free Asia last week. Arbor Day was initially held April 6, but was changed to March 2 in 1999 in line with North Korea’s founding leader Kim Il-sung’s vision for forests in 1946. / Korean Central News Agency
