North Korean submarine is missing, presumed sunk

North Korea is searching for one of its submarines after losing contact with it early this week, according to CNN.

The American cable news channel cited unidentified U.S. officials saying U.S. spy satellites, aircraft and ships have been closely watching the North’s navy searching for the missing submarine for days.

The submarine went missing when it operated off North Korea’s east coast, CNN reported.

The U.S. is unsure if the missing vessel is adrift under the sea or whether it has sunk, but believes the vessel suffered some type of failure during an exercise.
