Ri Sol-ju had 'past'
Ri Sol-ju, the wife of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, had virtually every men of power in the hermit kingdom, and was the hidden driver of the purge of Kim’s uncle Jang Song-thaek, an insider suggested.
North Korean defector-turned researcher at Korea Unification Institute (KUI) Lee Ae-ran explained the rumors surrounding the First Lady in North Korea in a column published in Chosun Ilbo.
Lee said that last fall, North Korean authorities were allegedly having a headache dealing with Ri’s past, including starring in a pornography while a member of the much coveted performance group “EunHaSoo Orchestra.”’
The ongoing investigation was extensively covered by the media here, and the whole story was reported back to the North Korean people, according to Lee.
Lee also raised the possibility that the alleged affair between Ri and Jang happened long before she was introduced to Kim Jong-un.
She said that Jang was in charge of screening candidates for the Supreme Leader, and Ri was Jang’s woman before she was selected by Kim. Kim had no knowledge of the relationship, only to find out during the investigation.
“Kim must have been furious. I see this might have been the reason why Kim ordered Jang’s deadly purge,” she wrote.
Lee added that Choe Ryong-hae, the second most powerful man in North Korea, is reportedly embroiled in a scandal with Ri, citing Free North Korea Radio.
Not only that, he has been having an affair with Yeom Sol-mi, 47, who is 17 years younger than he is.
