White House posts photo of Trump posing with top Korean, US negotiators

The White House on Thursday posted on social media a photo of U.S. President Donald Trump posing alongside top Korean and U.S. negotiators at the White House in Washington this week, as it touted a trade deal with the Asian country as "another historic" one.
Trump announced the deal shortly after Seoul's Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol, Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan and Trade Minister Yeo Han-koo met him at the White House. Under the deal, his administration agreed to lower "reciprocal" tariffs on Korea to 15 percent from the proposed 25 percent in return for Seoul's investment commitments and other pledges.
Posted on X, formerly Twitter, the photo showed Trump and the Korean negotiators, as well as Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, giving a thumbs-up.
The White House explained key points of the deal in the post: Korea's commitments to invest $350 billion in the United States, purchase $100 billion worth of American liquefied natural gas and other energy products, and open trade with no tariffs on American goods.
The deal capped grueling, monthslong negotiations that were set in motion after Trump announced reciprocal tariffs in April to address trade barriers to American exports. He has been using tariffs as a tool to increase federal revenue, pare down U.S. trade deficits and bolster domestic manufacturing.
