The Korea Times, in partnership with the Embassy of Qatar in Seoul, presents a photo exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Qatar.
The exhibition, curated by The Trinity, will open its doors to the public from July 2-4 at the Sharp Gallery 2.0 in Gangnam District, southern Seoul, with an exclusive opening reception on July 1.
Titled "The Pearl of Qatar," the exhibition showcases the works of Qatari photographers Abdulla Hamdan Al-Mannai and Yousuf Mubarak Al-Dosari, alongside The Korea Times' own photojournalist Choi Won-suk. This artistic collaboration offers insight into Qatar's cultural narratives and evolving landscapes, providing a visual narrative from the past to the future of the Arab nation.
Choi captures Qatar's cultural diversity and cosmopolitan lifestyle. Choi is an award-winning photojournalist, bringing his rich experience covering global events to this exhibition. His notable assignments include the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong in 2019 and the 2022 Qatar World Cup, showcasing his capability to capture pivotal moments in history.
Through the lens of Al-Mannai, a certified photography trainer at Al Jazeera Training Center, visitors can journey back to a time when Islamic traditions were the social pillars of the Qatari society.
Al-Dosari, a member of the Qatar Photography Center, envisions the nation's commitment to growth while staying rooted in its heritage.
Visitors are required to make a reservation to attend the exhibition.
