Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's widow, Akie Abe, visited Korea last week and met with first lady Kim Keon Hee, sources said Friday.
The meeting took place at the request of Abe's side, according to the sources.
Abe also had a separate lunch meeting with former first lady Kim Jung-sook, wife of former President Moon Jae-in, and the two talked "like sisters" about their time as first ladies, with Kim offering her condolences over the former prime minister's death last year. (Yonhap)
