The French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) will host an online seminar, Jan. 13, to help managing-level staff at companies better interact with Generation Z and millennial employees.

The chamber, which has more than 370 member companies, expected the seminar will help older generations “better understand these new generations and have a harmonious and motivational environment in the workplace.”

“Over time more and more managers in Korea are finding out that top-down authoritative leadership is outdated and has counterproductive results with Gen Z and millennial employees,” the FKCCI said in a press release.

It said the “just do what you're told” method does not work anymore, especially in Korea where expectations and lifestyles of new generations are evolving quickly.

“This webinar will be the perfect channel to interact directly with experts on the topics,” it added.

The seminar will run from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. beginning with speeches from FKCCI Managing Director Cedric Legrand and CEO Gordon Dudley of RDI Worldwide, a consulting firm for human resources.

Eric Wan, principal consultant of RDI, will give a 15-minute lecture under the theme, “Leading Millennials and Generation Z in Korea.”

A Q&A session will follow.

Wan has been leading a team of multinational experts specialized in strategic organizational culture change and leadership development. He has participated in projects in Korea, while coaching and developing leaders in Bangladesh, China, Columbia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States.

RDI assessed Wan as “enthusiastic about the latest in technology, popular culture and human society.”
