S. Korea condemns terrorist attack in Pakistan

South Korea's Foreign Ministry on Monday strongly condemned a terrorist attack in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore that left dozens of people dead and hundreds injured, vowing to step up efforts to stamp out terrorism.

"Our government cannot help but be shocked and worried by the act of terrorism, and we strongly condemn it," the ministry said in a press release.

The ministry stressed that terrorism cannot be justified under any circumstances, and that it would actively participate in international efforts to root out "uncivilized, inhumane" acts of terrorism.

The abrupt blast occurred at Lahore's Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park on Sunday evening when people were celebrating the Easter holiday. (Yonhap)
