Exhibition of Iranian Contemporary Paintings
The FAM Gallery of Iran will present ``Contemporary Art of Iran'' from July 4-13 at the Nuri Gallery in the Korea Foundation Cultural Center in Sunhwa-dong, Seoul.
A total of 60 paintings by 30 artists will be displayed at the exhibition under the theme of ``The Process of Revolution in Iranian Painting, from Persian Painting to Modern Art.''
The exhibit is organized by the Embassy of Iran and the Korea Foundation Cultural Center.
Artists include Aazam Abed Abyaneh, Amir Jalali, Azar Aletaha, Davar Yousefi and Fatemeh Parinezhad.

Japanese Arts and Crafts Exhibition
The Japanese Cultural Center will hold an arts and crafts exhibition from July 3-6 in Unni-dong, Seoul.
Thirty-two Japanese-born women who are living in Korea will showcase their paintings, calligraphy, embroidered designs and pottery work.
Sansu-Whoe, a group of Japanese-born women with an interest in Korean culture, is organizing the event. Between noon and 1 p.m. on July 3, an opening tea ceremony is scheduled for the public.

Mexican Film Festival
The Mexican Embassy in Seoul, the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Seoul Art Cinema are presenting the 8th Mexican Film Festival from July 9-15 at the Seoul Art Cinema in Jongno, Seoul.
The festival features six movies _ ``The Blue Room,'' ``Real Time,'' ``The Magician,'' ``Pink Punch,'' ``Seven Days'' and ``Side Effects.''
After Seoul, they will travel nationwide to Gwangju, July 25-29; Busan, Aug. 1-5; and Cheongju, Aug. 11-12.
English and Korean subtitles will be shown. Fees are 6,000 won for adults, 5,000 won for adolescents and members of the Seoul Art Cinema and 4,000 won for seniors and the disabled.

American Crafts Exhibition
The U.S. Embassy in Seoul will present an American crafts exhibition, ``Flights of Fantasy,'' from July 6-20 at the Seoul National University Museum of Art in Sillim-dong, Seoul. Works such as glass, xmetal, quilts and ceramic sculptures by American contemporary artists will be on display.
Participating artists are Judith James, Michael James, Brad Story and Lisa Vershbow, the wife of the U.S. Ambassador to Korea. They are all members of ``Art in Embassies,'' a U.S. State Department program to promote cultural understanding by introducing American art to the general public of embassy host nations.
