Cha Eun-woo’s younger brother, Lee Dong-hwi, has made his public debut as an artificial intelligence (AI) researcher, drawing attention for both his work and his looks.
YouTube channel Sebasi Talk released a video Sunday, titled “Korea AI Summit researcher in the spotlight | Cho Yong-min | AI expert, AI branding by Lee Dong-hwi.” Lee is currently working as a researcher at AI startup Unbound Lab.
Unbound Lab CEO Cho Yong-min introduced him on stage, saying, “We are presenting today with the researcher who planned and developed our solution. It is not yet a commercial product." He added, “We brought in a genius."
Lee said he majored in media studies in China and previously worked in advertising. “I often talked with the CEO about my personal concerns, and that led me to join solution planning and development,” he said, explaining how he ended up speaking at the event.
He added that his experience around celebrities shaped his research focus. “Because my life has somewhat overlapped with theirs, I paid attention to their concerns. For example, how can they communicate better with fans?”
Lee said he also sees a need for data-driven tools. “I noticed that entertainment companies and brands struggle with data feedback. So I thought it would be meaningful to design a solution that collects data for them.”
He also expressed concern over malicious comments. “I have seen many celebrities suffer from online abuse. There is too much media now, and that also means too many extreme comments,” he said, explaining that he hopes to build protection systems for public figures.
Lee, a graduate of China’s Fudan University, briefly appeared on tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block” last June, drawing attention for his striking looks. Members of Astro, the K-pop group Cha Eun-woo belongs to, even said, ‘His face is smaller and he is more handsome than Eun-woo.’

Lee officially revealed himself to the public at the ‘AI Summit Seoul & Expo 2025,’ where he took the stage as a presenter on Nov. 10. With his sharp features and strong academic credentials, he quickly became the center of attention once again.
