Na In-woo confirms lead role in upcoming series

Actor Na In-woo will team up with the director of his previous series “River Where the Moon Rises” for the upcoming fantasy series “The Jinx's Lover.”
The actor's agency Cube Entertainment announced that Na has been confirmed as the lead character Su-gwang in the series.
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name by Ji Hae-han and Gu Seul, the fantasy romance series will revolve around an unfortunate man and a goddess who is cursed. It will be directed by Yoon Sang-ho, who also helmed “Saimdang, Memoir of Colors,” and scripted by writer Jang Yoon-mi, whose previous work includes the films “Scarlet Innocence” and “Luck-Key.”
Na will play the owner of a fish market, who is living in a world of misfortune. He used to have a bright future ahead of him, but when he encountered Seul-bi who has the ability to bring fortune to people and see their future, his life is turned upside down.
The production is still in the process of casting the actress for Seul-bi's role and will begin filming in the latter half of the year.

Na has become one of the most promising rising stars this year, after unexpectedly landing the lead role in KBS's “River Where the Moon Rises.”
The period series originally starred model-turned-actor Ji Soo as the male lead, filming most of the episodes before the series aired. But the role soon became vacant when he was forced out from the series over a bullying scandal, for which he apologized and decided to halt further acting activities indefinitely.
Na, who has garnered fame with a role in tvN's hit series “Mr. Queen” early this year, took over Ji's role in mid-running, successfully leading the series to end with an 8.3 percent viewership rating. The role also won him a nomination for Best New Actor at Baeksang Arts Awards, scheduled to be held May 13.
Debuted with a minor role in the comedy "Twenty" in 2015, the actor has starred in several TV and web series, such as tvN's "Mystic Pop-up Bar" (2020), before making his breakthrough role in “Mr. Queen.”
He is also set to appear in a guest role in KBS's new series “Blue Spring from a Distance,” starring singer and actor Park Ji-hoon. The series is set to air next month.
