'Sweet Home' star Go Min-si apologizes for past underage drinking

Actress Go Min-si, 26, who came to prominence through her roles in Netflix's original series, “Sweet Home” and “Love Alarm,” has apologized after pictures of her drinking alcohol as a teenager were revealed recently.
“The person in the picture is, without any doubt, me,” Go said in a statement Saturday. “I understand that my past behaviors were wrong, and am deeply reflecting on them.”
She added she would not expect her past deeds to be forgiven just because it happened when she was young.
“I will take this opportunity to grow more mature and take the right path,” she said.
The controversy emerged when an unidentified person posted screenshots of Go's past social media post from 2011 on an online community, showing pictures of her drinking in a bar with her friends. She was 16 at the time.
Given that the legal drinking age in Korea is 19, many people have pointed out that it was inappropriate.
Go debuted with a short-form web series called “72 Seconds” in 2016. She went on to play a supporting role in the hit action mystery series “The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion” in 2018.
Since then, Go has starred in various TV series, including the tvN series, “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes,” and the SBS series, “Secret Boutique.” She is set to star in two upcoming series ― the KBS melodrama, “Youth of May,” set to air in May, and tvN mystery, “Cliffhanger.”
