Actor Lee Tae-gon will make a small screen return after six years in a drama “Marriage Story” (tentative title), by scriptwriter Im Sung-han, who is infamous for extremely sensational plots and controversial lines.
Ramah Entertainment, the actor's agency, said Monday that the actor had confirmed a role in Im's upcoming series. This will be his first drama since SBS's “One Well-Raised Daughter” in 2014.
“Lee successfully worked with Im previously. Im was still working on the plot, but Lee decided to take the role without hesitation because he had respect and trust for her,” the agency said.
Lee started his acting career with a lead role in Im's drama “Dear Heaven (2005)” and worked with her again for “Assorted Gems (2009).” Both series were huge hits.
The series will unfold interconnected stories of three women, but the plot, including Lee's role, is reportedly still being developed. Actor Sung Hoon will also play one of the roles.
Im, who has a track record of outrageous, soapy “makjang” dramas, announced her retirement in 2015, but she has apparently changed her mind.
After debuting as a model, Lee successfully changed his career to the TV screen, appearing in several series, including “Golden Fish (2010).” He has also starred in reality shows such as “Law of the Jungle” and “The Fishermen and the City.”
