YouTube megastar PewDiePie to take year break

By Park Si-soo
YouTube megastar PewDiePie said he would take a one-year break from the video-sharing platform, starting early next year, because he was “very tired.”
The Swedish YouTuber, with more than 100 million subscribers, announced this in a video uploaded on Sunday. He said the reason for taking a hiatus would be explained later.
A day later, he wiped his Twitter account of all its tweets, only keeping the profile to “prevent fake accounts.”
“I am taking (a) break from YouTube next year," PewDiePie said in the video. "I wanted to say it in advance because I made up my mind. I'm tired, I'm feeling very tired. I don't know if you can tell ... early next year I'll be away for a little while. I'll explain that later but I wanted to give a heads up."
There are claims he is exhausted from dealing with racism and anti-Semitism scandals that have plagued him for years. He has come under fire many times for what critics have called the biased content of some of his videos.
But he has strongly denied supporting racist and anti-Semitic messages.
