Production of “Mr. Trot for Tomorrow,” a talent show in search for male trot singers, has been confirmed following the waves made by “Ms. Trot.”
The previous audition show of TV Chosun, “Ms. Trot,” which featured professional and amateur female trot singers, created a big sensation, its viewer rating hitting a high of 18.1 percent. The show also shined light on several trot singers, especially those who already debuted but had not received that much attention.
After the success of the show for female contestants, the door is now open for more contestants, including those living abroad, making it a global project. Men aged from 10 to 45 may apply through the official Instagram of Mr. Trot, the website of TV Chosun or through email to

With a bigger scale of production, many fans of the genre are looking forward to another great singer like Song Ga-in, the previous winner, who will follow in the footsteps of beloved trot legends such as Nam Jin and Na Hoon-a.
The awards for the winner will include not only the prize but also the chance to record a song composed by a renowned composer who is yet to be announced.
