Actor Kim Nam-gil, 37, starring in SBS's high-rated drama “The Fiery Priest,” was injured while shooting an action scene.

He is being treated in hospital for a fractured rib, according to his agency C-JeS Entertainment, Sunday. The accident happened on Saturday when he was filming a group action scene for the 16th episode.

But the rib fracture came from an earlier accident when the actor was treated for a fractured fingers injured while shooting an action scene. The rib fracture was not found at the time, but he has suffered continuous pain since then. He was again injured on Feb. 25 and treated for a wrist fracture.

The 13-14th episodes of the Friday/Saturday drama are set to be aired on March 8 and the 15-16th episodes on March 9. The broadcaster said Kim's injury would not affect the airing schedule, as enough scenes had been filmed, but it had not decided when the actor would resume work.

“The Fiery Priest” is about a priest who tries to find the cause of the mysterious death of his master priest and confront the vicious cartel behind it. Kim plays Kim Hae-il, the hot blooded priest seeking justice.

The drama is enjoying rising popularity with its spectacular action scenes.
