EBS, China co-produce program on Chinese industries
Amid a continuously strained relationship between Korea and China over the deployment of a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) battery, an American anti-ballistic missile system, on the Korean peninsula, the Korean Educational Broadcasting System (EBS) TV will air “Big Bang China,” a program on the fourth industrial revolution of China co-produced with China’s Golden Eagle Documentary Channel (GEDC).
EBS announced Wednesday that it has produced 10 documentary episodes together with GEDC over the past year.
The EBS program will feature a series of episodes on the internet, industrial design, drone and science-technology while GEDC focused on techniques of medical treatment, energy and youth culture.
The Korean educational network will first air its six episodes, followed by three episodes from a Chinese documentary channel.
The TV program will shed light on young and ambitious Chinese entrepreneurs, the internet environment, changes in college systems and China’s government efforts to secure a global network that ultimately reports the country’s economic potential.
“If Chinese documentaries in the past focused on macroeconomics, ‘Big Bang China’ shows microeconomics dealing with the future of Chinese industries,” a production staffer said.
The documentary series will air on EBS beginning today until Sept. 22 on Thursday and Friday at 10 p.m.
