Ex-actress Shim hospitalized after sleeping pill overdose; not in critical condition

Former actress Shim Eun-ha is in hospital after overdosing on sleeping pills Wednesday.
She is not in a critical condition and will be discharged soon, her husband Ji Sang-wook, a lawmaker of the minor conservative Bareun Party, said. Shim, 45, who was a household name in the 1990s, retired after marrying Ji in 2005.
The reason for her overdose is unknown, but her husband said she had suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
“I discovered I had been suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder for some time and recently began taking medication,” Shim wrote in a text message sent to reporters via her husband. “I needed to be treated with drugs, but I overcame my mental problems while raising my children. I am OK now and will soon be heading home.”
