On-screen TV couple Nam Joo-hyuk, 23, and Lee Sung-kyung, 26, are officially in a relationship.
Lee and Nam’s agency YG Entertainment confirmed on April 24 that the two have been dating for more than five months. The actors starred as the main couple in “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo” on MBC. The romance-drama series ended in January.
Korean entertainment news agency Dispatch Korea suggested the couple’s romance on Monday, releasing photos of the two getting into a car while on holiday.
There were suggestions last year that they were in a relationship but both actors denied it, saying they are “nothing more than friends.”
Nam and Lee reportedly became friends when they were models before switching to acting in 2014.
Netizens had revealed indications of the couple’s relationship before the report. While Lee attended Nam’s fan-meeting event in February to surprise him, she also posted Nam’s photo on her Instagram account this month but deleted it a few minutes later.
The couple co-starred in TV romance-drama “Cheese in the Trap” on tvN last year.
