K-pop girl group Rainbow is breaking up seven years after debuting.
Its agency, DSP Media, said Friday the band has decided to disband once its contract expires on Nov. 12 due to members’ diverging career paths.
“Although we discussed with Rainbow members Kim Jae-kyung, Go Woo-ri, Kim Ji-sook, Noel, Oh Seung-ah, Jung Yoon-hye, and Cho Hyun-young their futures, they have decided to go their separate ways,” the agency said. “We hope that like a rainbow that shines bright anywhere, the members will be remembered for their bright, positive image and that people will continue to send their wholehearted support and encouragement for their future activities.”
The group debuted in 2009 with mini album “Gossip Girl” and released hits including “A” (2010), “Tell Me Tell Me” (2013) and “Whoo” (2016).
