Sex scandal-hit Korean singer Jung Joon-young has decided to step down from TV variety show “2 Days & 1 Night” and “Mr. Baek the Homemade Food Master 2.”

The singer was embroiled in the scandal after his ex-girlfriend sued him on Aug. 6 for allegedly taking naked pictures of her without consent while they had sexual intercourse.

“The pictures were taken by my mobile phone with consent of a woman I had dated earlier this year,” Jung said at a press conference on Sept. 25. “They were erased immediately and the charges have been dropped by the complainant”

Jung also apologized to fellow cast members of the TV shows and said he would accept any decision made by the program directors.

The director of “2 Days & 1 Night” said on Friday the team “has decided to accept Jung’s decision to have a period of repent regardless of the outcome of the prosecutor’s investigation.”

“Jung will not participate in filming of the show from the episode that will be filmed on Friday.”

Jung’s ex-girlfriend has submitted multiple petitions claiming Jung’s innocence after the story went viral. She claimed there are no sex tapes and asked fans to believe in Jung’s innocence.

Jung said at the press conference that the woman filed the suit after they had an argument about his busy schedule.
