Korean film director Oh Sang-hoon died Sunday of heart failure, according to media reports. He was 49.
Oh entered the Korean cinema industry in 1995 as a sub-director for action thriller “Born to Kill.” He then produced comedy films “Reversal of Fortune” (2003) and “Cracked Eggs and Noodles” (2005). In 2004, he won the rising director category from the Korean Society of Cinematographers.
Oh was to direct a new film known as “Green Jacket” this year but quit due to differences with producers.
Singer and actor Im Chang-jung, the lead from Oh’s two comedies, expressed his grief and said he will visit the funeral home where Oh’s coffin is on Sept. 13.
