Song Joong-ki drives Chinese TV show's record ratings

Actor Song Joong-ki, who starred in mega-hit TV drama “Descendants of the Sun,” demonstrated his popularity in China when his first TV appearance there pushed the show to its highest ratings this year.
Song’s Chinese agency said through its official SNS site that Hunan TV variety show “Happy Camp” on Sunday recorded a 2.61 percent viewership rating. This was the highest among all programs in the same time slot and the highest for the show this year, the agency said.
In the show, the heartthrob showed off his charms by reenacting scenes from his recent drama and playing games with Chinese celebrities.
Song is scheduled to attend fan meetings in Guangzhou and Shenzhen on Friday and Saturday as part of his Chinese tour that began in Beijing on May 15.
