A netizen who claimed K-pop star Seolhyun as a middle-school classmate has revealed the singer’s “praiseworthy” past, giving her fans another reason to like her.
Online sources show Seolhyun, 21, from girl band AOA, graduated from Sunggok Middle School in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province.
“Most celebrities catch flak from telltales who reveal the star’s dirty past, but I have been waiting to say good things about Seolhyun,” the netizen said. “She was very kind and probably had no enemies at the school.”
The comments were posted to an online community Tuesday. It appears they were written when Seolhyun debuted in K-pop in 2012. The netizen said: “I was going to reveal it when she had won a school uniform model contest in 2010, but she wasn’t popular back then, so I waited until she debuted as a singer.”
The netizen “counted the days to her debut after I heard she passed the entrance exam to Gyeonggi Arts High School” and mentioned that the star’s beauty and kindness won the hearts of teachers.
The post includes the star’s school graduation photos and her handwritten comment ― “I won’t forget you even when I become an adult. I love you” ― on what appears to be a graduation album.
Entertainment agency FNC Entertainment selected Kim Seolhyun after she won the model contest and she began training with the company, the sources said. She is now one of the most sought-after ad models in Korea.
