Actress Shin Min-a, 31, has been helping unwed mothers in Busan, Kookmin Ilbo reported Monday.

The daily newspaper cited WithMom, a government-affiliated organization for single-parent families, as saying the actress donated a million won in December and 5 million won this month.

Shin also donated 1 billion won for seven years to Community Chest of Korea to treat children with burns, pay heating bills for senior citizens living alone and for education for immigrant children.

Lee Hyo-cheon, from WithMom, said they wanted to express their gratitude after seeing news of her donation, although she did not want to disclose it.

Shin donated 5 million won to WithMom this month after reading a story about an unwed mother on the organization’s Facebook page.

Shin is shooting the drama “Oh My God” with actor So Ji-sub. It will air on KBS next month.
