Super Junior wins Teen Choice Award in US

South Korean boy band Super Junior has won this year's Teen Choice Award for best international artist, its management agency said Monday.

The 13-member group became the first South Korean winner of the Choice International Artist on Sunday local time, edging out the British boy band One Direction and Australia's rock group 5 Seconds of Summer, S.M. Entertainment said, citing the award's official website.

Super Junior's official fan club, "E.L.F.," also scored the Choice Fandom award.

The Teen Choice Awards, given each year by the U.S. television network Fox since 1999, recognize the year's biggest successes in music, TV, movies, fashion and more. Among its past recipients are Christina Aguilera, Avril Lavigne and No Doubt.

Super Junior released "Devil," an album that celebrates the group's 10th year in the industry, in July. (Yonhap)
