Mnet `M!Countdown' to hold LA tour

Top K-pop artists, including Big Bang’s leader G-Dragon and rookie sensation EXO, will perform on the sidelines of a large-scale “hallyu” convention in Los Angeles on Aug. 25.
They are among the final line-up announced Monday by Korea’s popular music chart program Mnet “M! Countdown,” which will hit Los Angeles for the first time. The show will happen on the last day of “KCON 2013” at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena.
The other K-pop artists to perform are the ballad group 2AM, the hip-hop group Dynamic Duo, f(x), Teen Top, and Korea’s renowned DJ DJ KOO, CJ E&M the organizer for KCON said.

EXO is currently going strong in Asian charts with the new album “XOXO (Kiss & Hug),” while f(x) has also returned to the music scene with the new album “Pink Tape,” whose single “Rum Pum Pum Pum” is gaining popularity.
These K-POP artists who also represent K-style is planning to hold collaboration performances with local artists in L.A. The show will also focus on showing each artist’s unique features to differentiate from ordinary K-POP concerts.
Mnet’s “M COUNTDOWN” global tour has been gaining a high reputation for presenting excellent performances.
This has attracted many Asian music fans, which has made the show one of the most popular music festivals in Asia.
“Our team is very excited to hold our first show in the U.S., especially in L.A. We will do our best to show the potential of Korean artists by supporting them with Mnet’s outstanding production and direction. It will be another start of a grand global music festival, so please look forward to it,” CJ officials said.
Meanwhile, the KCON festival is marking its second edition this year. After the success of the inaugural KCON, the organizers have expanded the festival to two days.
The show gained its reputation by concentrating on interactions between Korean pop culture and global fans.
