Mark, a member of K-pop act NCT, launched into a new journey with his debut solo album, which is set to drop next year, with the highly anticipated release of his single, "200," Thursday.
Mark's agency, SM Entertainment, announced Thursday that "200" would be available at 6 p.m., promising fans a taste of "rockstar romanticism" from the iconic NCT member through an official press release.
This release signals the beginning of Mark's path toward his debut solo album, scheduled for release in February 2025.
The new track "200" samples Olmos' "North Star," with Mark's lyrical and arrangement input adding a unique, personal touch. Infusing rock elements for an early 2000s feel, Mark's dynamic rap over fast drums and synth bass sounds explores unexpected love turned destiny.
In addition to the main track, the new release also includes an acoustic version, "200 (Minhyung’s Ver.)," allowing fans to appreciate Mark's vocals and emotional depth in a different light.
Speaking about the single through the press release, Mark said, "I'm excited for fans to enjoy the title track '200' for this upcoming summer, and I believe '200 (Minhyung’s Ver.)' is a song that can be savored for its emotional depth, especially when listened to at night ... Please enjoy the single '200.'"
Since joining NCT in 2016, Mark garnered widespread acclaim for his all-round skills as a performer. He has already demonstrated his musical prowess through various contributions to group albums, as well as his previous solo tracks "Child" and "Golden Hour," both of which were self-composed.
