Krystal Jung, a member of the K-pop girl group f(x), recently signed with a new agency, raising expectations for her debut as a solo artist.

The 29-year-old found her new home at Beasts And Natives Alike (BANA), a company representing high-profile musicians including rapper Beenzino and producer 250. The latter was behind the success of K-pop sensation NewJeans' 2022 smash-hit songs, "Attention" and "Hype Boy."

BANA was set up by Kim Ki-hyun, a former official at K-pop powerhouse SM Entertainment. Jung debuted as part of f(x) under SM in 2009, but left the label in 2020, signing a contract with H& Entertainment to focus on pursuing an acting career.

"Please pay attention to the synergy that BANA will create with Jung, who has been forging her own career in various fields as an actor and singer," the company said in a statement, Thursday. "We have the aesthetics encompassing diverse areas of art."

Signaling her new start, Jung also shared her cover of "I'm Coming Back" (1990) by American singer Lalah Hathaway on SoundCloud.

Jung, the younger sister of the former Girls' Generation member Jessica, burst onto the music scene as a member of f(x), which rose to stardom with its unique and experimental music style incorporating electronic sounds. Some of its mega-hits include, "Hot Summer" (2011) and "Rum Pum Pum Pum" (2013).

In 2010, the Korean-American star made her acting debut with the sitcom, "More Charming by the Day." Since then, she has appeared in numerous movies and dramas such as, "Cobweb" (2023).
