A large-scale K-pop concert will be held on one of the major boulevards in Gangnam District, southern Seoul, in October, returning with in-person performances after two years of online-only events due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The organizers of the Yeongdong-daero (Yeongdong Boulevard) K-Pop Concert said Wednesday that the annual concert will take place on the boulevard in front of COEX at 7 p.m. on Oct. 2.

The concert is a part of the 2022 Gangnam Festival, which the district office has been hosting since 2012 by taking advantage of hallyu-related businesses there, such as entertainment agencies, medical tourism clinics, cosmetics and clothing shops, and gourmet restaurants.

The concert used to be the highlight of the festival, but it was held only online for the last two years due to pandemic-induced social distancing measures. This year's edition, however, is bringing back offline performances.

The lineup of artists includes Psy, who brought global attention to Gangnam with his 2012 hit song, “Gangnam Style,” boy bands Highlight and The Boyz, Chung Ha and girl group Weeekly.

Tiffany from Girls' Generation and Hyunjae from The Boyz will emcee the concert.

Tickets are free, but reservations are required. Reservations will be available on a first-come-first-served basis, starting at 10 a.m. on Sept. 27 via the kpopcon website that will open on the day. Entry to the concert venue will start at 5 p.m. on Oct. 2.

The concert will be livestreamed on Gangnam District Office's YouTube channel, and will be aired at 12:30 p.m., Oct. 8 on SBS.
