It is the first time a K-pop artist's choreography clip, not an official music video, passed the 1 billion view mark
For BLACKPINK, it is the sixth clip that has gained more than 1 billion views after “Ddu-du Ddu-du” (1.8 billion), “Kill This Love” (1.5 billion), “Boombayah” (1.3 billion), “As If It's Your Last” (1.1 billion) and “How You Like That” official music video (1 billion).
According to the agency, the dance performance video reached 1 billion views at around 10:19 p.m. on Monday, about 19 months after its first release on July 6, 2020.
“The official music video also drew some 1,048 million views, slightly higher than those of the performance video,” the company said, adding it is unusual for two versions of one song to draw nearly an equal number of views.
“How You Like That” won Song of Summer at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards and topped Global Top Summer Song selected by YouTube in the same year.
BLACKPINK has a total of 32 videos on YouTube that have surpassed 100 million marks. The girl group is also the most subscribed artist on YouTube with 72 million subscribers.
