EXID's Solji to make solo comeback after 12 years

K-pop girl group EXID vocalist Solji is set to drop her first solo single since “Like That First Feeling” in 2008.
The artist's agency C-JeS Entertainment announced her solo comeback Thursday on social media. The song's title is “Because It Happens to Be Raining Today” (direct translation).
The ballad, slated for a July 9 release, was written by LOOGONE, who has worked with various K-pop artists including Apink and NU'EST W.
“The song is expressed in Solji's unique, deep sentimental emotion and her interpretation,” the agency said. “As this will set the start of her solo career, the song will show her musical ability and distinctive color.”
Solji debuted in 2006 in the duo 2NB. She joined the quintet EXID in 2012 as leader and main vocalist.
Since the group's latest album “Bad Girl For You” in January, she has been involved in soundtracks for TV series, including KBS's “Forest.”
