K-pop group EXO's Baekhyun is thriving on music charts with his new album “Delight” and its title song “Candy.”
After its release at 6 p.m. Monday, the song topped various charts on streaming platforms including Melon, Genie Music and Naver VIBE.
The group's main vocalist sold over 730,000 albums in pre-order and 615,000 albums on the day of release, according to his agency SM Entertainment.
The album has taken over global charts on iTunes in 68 countries, including France, Australia, Peru and Singapore.
Meanwhile, Baekhyun is planning to hold the live streaming event “BAEKHYUN THE STAGE” on YouTube and NaverTV at 8 p.m. Tuesday to perform his new songs.
Baekhyun debuted as a member of EXO in 2012 and released his first solo album, "City Lights," last July. The solo debut came as the group entered a hiatus following some members' military enlistment.
The singer has continued to be active on the K-pop scene, taking part in soundtracks and collaborating with artists such as BOL4.
