K-pop label JYP Entertainment has cancelled its request for a temporary restraining order against an alleged German stalker of Nayeon, a member of its girl band TWICE. But the criminal complaint has not been withdrawn, the company said Wednesday.

“Serving the court order to him is not possible at the moment, so we are trying to make an arrangement to have law enforcement authorities deal with him when he visits Korea,” the agency said.

On Jan. 1, the alleged stalker followed Nayeon onto a Korea-bound plane that left from Japan. He approached her during the flight despite the security guards' intervention and was later held back by the singer's manager. JYP said Nayeon was not harmed, but felt greatly stressed.

The man, known as “Josh,” claimed on his YouTube channel that he merely attempted to hand a love letter to the singer. He is believed to have stalked the K-pop star since December.

JYP filed for a temporary restraining order to Seoul Central District Court on Jan. 7. It lodged a complaint with Seoul Gangnam Police Station the next day.

“We will continue to protect our artist,” it said.

Nayeon debuted as a member of the nine-piece girl group TWICE in 2015. Its fame escalated thanks to big hits including "Cheer Up" (2016) and "Knock Knock" (2017).
