This is not the first time Dok2 has become a hot talking point over money.
Previously, he said he spends 10 million won ($8,900) a month on meals, claiming the amount is “insignificant.” He made the remark in justification for his mother, who allegedly borrowed 10 million won from a friend in the late 1990s and did not repay it.
He also has been uploading photos of a luxury car and watches on his Instagram.
“I always count my money when I am staying at home and post photos of money and watches on my social network ― then people ask me the reason for my action,” Dok2 said on Mnet's “4 Things Show” in 2015. “My early days were tough and I made money on my own using fair means ― I wanted to show people that Dok2 can do it.”
Dok2, whose name is Lee Joon-kyung, gained attention after composing the music "Circus" for hip-hop team Dynamic Duo in 2005. He has accumulated wealth through more than 300 songs.
