Singer Jung Joon-young, lead vocalist of the band Drug Restaurant, will open a Korean-style fusion restaurant in Paris.
Chef Lee Jun of Seoul-based French restaurant Soigne, awarded one Michelin star, will assist the musician's journey into the culinary business.
Jung's agency, C9 Entertainment, unveiled the plan on Tuesday, saying the restaurant, MAISON DE COREE, will open next year. It didn't give further details such as the opening date, location and main dishes. It said the restaurant will offer Korean-style fusion dishes.
The agency said the singer had spent three years preparing for the restaurant.
“It is a truly happy moment for me,” Jung wrote on Instagram on Friday. “It took a long time to make this happen.”
Jung debuted in 2013 after snatching third prize in the talent show “Superstar K.” He gained popularity after appearing on KBS TV's popular reality show “2 Days and 1 Night” and MBC TV's “We Got Married.”
