JYP Entertainment founder Park Jin-young will seek an investigation into alleged music chart manipulation.
”Fair competition and evaluation are cornerstones for development,” he wrote on Instagram, Wednesday. “The recent suspicions about manipulation of music charts need to be fully investigated.”

Industry sources said Park might be referring to Korean singer SHAUN, who allegedly stockpiled his song “Way Back Home,” and suddenly topped several music charts this week.
The singer's mini album, “Take” was released on June 27.
Park added: “I know that some companies have already asked the Ministry of Culture and Sport, the relevant department, to investigate. Our company will discuss the issue with other companies within the industry and then ask the ministry and the Fair Trade Commission to investigate.”
Park said that depending on the result of the investigation, JYP might get prosecutors involved.
SHAUN's agency, which has been denying the allegation, requested the prosecution for the investigation of the case on Thursday as well.
