A remake of the 1986 Korean period horror flick “Woman's Wail” has sold to 20 countries even before its national theater opening in early November.

The United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Macau are among countries that have bought “

The Wrath

,” according to its distributor Smile Entertainment Tuesday. “Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore are slating the film in theaters within this year,” the company said.

Yoo Young-sun has directed the movie that follows naive Joseon Dynasty girl Ok-bun who happens to stumble into a cursed household inhabited by Lady Shin. K-pop star Son Na-eun, from girl band Apink, is cementing her acting career with the lead role of Ok-bun.

Bound by unexplainable house rules intended to deter her from unearthing the mysterious truths behind paranormal activities, Ok-boon sheds her naivety to face the house's secrets.

Yoo said Son, who has appeared in six TV dramas and one film, articulated well Ok-bun's fragile character.
